What is a lift car sling?
There are many components that make up a lift or elevator. Outside of the lift car itself, the elevator comprises a crosshead which is made of steel beams and is positioned over the top of the car. These beams span the elevator shaft and hold the pulley system for the hoist cable. Attached to the crosshead, there is the car sling. The car sling is attached to the crosshead and extends down the sides of the lift car to hold the floor or platform.
